According to statistics, China’s rubber tire exports in 2023 totaled 8.86 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 16.0%; the export value was approximately 155.812 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 18.7%. Among them, the cumulative export of new pneumatic rubber tires was 8.57 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 16.4%; the export value was 150.113 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 19.5%. Calculated in terms of number, China will export a total of approximately 616.4 million new pneumatic rubber tires throughout 2023, a year-on-year increase of 11.8%.

If this is your first time buying, or you can’t tell which type and size of tire you really need, please read below:

Tires are divided into two types: steel tires (radial tires) and nylon tires (bias tires, wire tires).

Steel wire tires are characterized by strong durability, high tread strength, suitable for long-distance straight driving, and high popularity. All truck tires are steel wire tires. Compared with steel wire tires, nylon tires are cheaper and have fewer manufacturers. The nylon sidewalls have high strength and are relatively durable for short distances or frequent turns. They are commonly used in some engineering machinery and agricultural machinery. Especially in agricultural machinery, there are many turns when harvesting crops, so nylon tires are more suitable. Please believe that whether it is steel tires or nylon tires, as long as it is the tire model you want, we at SDTC will provide it for you!

It is worth noting that there are also differences in model classification between steel wire tires and nylon tires. Steel wire tires are marked with R, and nylon tires are marked with -. Example: 12.00R20 steel tire; 12.00-20 nylon tire.

Next, focus on steel tires:

Steel tires are further subdivided into all-steel tires TBR, semi-steel tires PCR, and special tires OTR. All-steel tires refer to steel cords used in the carcass and tread belt. The advantages are wear resistance and strong grip. They are mainly used for large vehicles, trucks, vans, buses, etc. The carcass of semi-steel tires is usually made of nylon or polyester fiber material, and the tread belt layer is made of steel cord, which has relatively good shock absorption and comfort. Mostly used in small vehicles, cars, pickup trucks, etc.

SDTC’s ranking of all-steel truck tire partner manufacturers and corresponding brands:

SAILUN (2nd), Huasheng (ranked 12th), Wanfeng (Haohua APLUS) (ranked 11th), three major manufacturers, followed by Shengtai, Zhongce (Chaoyang, West Lake, Good Luck) (1st), Taikaiying (ranked 34th), Guirun (Forward, Hercules) (6th), Triangle (5th).

SAILUN has a full range of tire sizes but does not have a nylon tire production line. It is of high quality and relatively expensive. The truck tires currently on sale are ROADX.

In addition to the first batch of overall overseas distribution of ROADX, SDTC currently has procurement branches in four African countries: Congo, Burkina, Ghana and Guinea. The lead time is about 55 days.

Huasheng is an economical tire brand and does not have a line tire production line. The overall tire price is relatively low. The foreign trade brands I have come into contact with include KAPSEN, TAITONG, and TERRAKING, all of which have the same quality. From overseas companies, we mainly purchase TERRAKING. Among SDTC’s branches in Africa, Sinotruk Branch in Tanzania purchases the most, and Guinea, Angola, and Burkina purchase a small amount. The lead time is about 35 days.

As a mid-to-high-end brand, Wanfeng (Haohua) is currently mainly marketed in Guinea. There are some types of nylon tire production lines, but not all-steel engineering tires. The lead time is about 55 days.

Shengtai currently only has Angolan companies purchasing.

Taikaiying mainly focuses on engineering tires. Chaoyang, Guilun and Triangle brands are mainly purchased under the brands specified by customers.

Tire consultation requirements: Clarify the tire model, required quantity, pattern requirements (normal or mining pattern), country of use (especially SAILUN), quality/brand requirements. It would be better to have a photo of the pattern in real size. If there are any requirements on the lead time, please inform us in time. For customers’ multi-model orders, according to the customer’s required quantity and model, we will notify you in advance to confirm the quantity of the whole container, and mark the shipment as a whole container. If the quantity is more than the whole container, we agree to reduce the quantity.

The main models of tires are mainly 315/80R22.5/13R22.5/12.00R20.

315/80R22.5 and 13R22.5 are tubeless tires without inner tubes, and 12.00R20 are tires with inner tubes and pads. If there are no special requirements, all prices will be quoted as a complete set with inner tubes and pads. TUBELEE (TL) tubeless tire, TUBE TYRE (TT) with inner tube.

315/80R22.5 tubeless tires, the commonly used pattern is mainly water ripples. This pattern is suitable for tractors, steering wheels and driving wheels. If the road conditions are severe, it is recommended to choose a block pattern for the driving wheel pattern, which will have stronger grip.

PR:Describes the strength of the tire, represented by the level (PR). The higher the level, the stronger the tire’s ability to withstand high loads. When cotton cords were used in the bias tire era, the layers represented the actual number of cord layers in the carcass. However, the actual number of layers was significantly reduced after the emergence of stronger rayon, nylon, polyester and other cords. From the customer’s perspective, it is understandable that the actual number of layers has been reduced after the emergence of high-strength cords; however, the concept of layers was used in order to correspond to the strength of cotton cords in the past. For example, the current “20PR” does not mean that the actual number of layers is 20 layers of carcass cords, but that the strength is the same as 20 layers of cotton cords.

The above is the sharing of tire knowledge brought to you by SDTC. I hope it can help you a little bit in choosing tires. I also hope you will think of us when you need tires!
